Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art is one of the thirteen faculties in the University of Latvia. Its most characteristic features are continuous development and improvement in all its aspects: new programmes, flexibility, international cooperation, wide and manysided research activities, enrichment of environment.

Faculty of Education and Psychology was founded in 1982. The basic field of research and studies are – education sciences, psychology, pedagogy, education management. Though teacher education is the priority in the faculty related subject areas are also actively developing: linguistics, sports science, arts, health education a.o. to ensure high professional quality of the staff.

There are four departments in the Faculty: Psychology, Teacher Education, Pedagogy, Education Sciences. There is also Sports Centre, Education Research Institute, Adult Pedagogical Education Centre, Multicultural Education Centre, The Centre of Philosophy of Education. There are about 5000 students at the Faculty, 2000 of them are full time students.
