
LAPSA (Latvijas Augstskolu pedagogu sadarbības asociācija) ir profesionāla biedrība, kas izveidota 1998. gada 11. septembrī un darbojas uz pašpārvaldes principiem. Asociāciju ir dibinājuši un tajā darbojas Latvijas augstskolu Daugavpils Universitātes, Latvijas Universitātes, Latvijas Sporta pedagoģijas akadēmijas, Liepājas Universitātes, Rēzeknes Augstskolas, Latvijas Lauksaimniecības universitātes, Latvijas Policijas akadēmijas, Rīgas Pedagoģijas un izglītības vadības augstskolas docētāji, kuri piedalījās Sorosa fonda Latvija projektā Sadarbība un pieredze kā novitāte skolotāju izglītībā.
Biedrības mērķis ir veicināt sadarbības pētniecības, kooperatīvās mācīšanās un dažādu interaktīvo metožu ieviešanu izglītībā, sekmēt augstskolu docētāju, studentu un skolotāju pieredzes apmaiņu, sadarbību un profesionālās meistarības izaugsmi.
LAPSA darbojas šādos virzienos:
- sadarbība ar augstskolām un skolām un citām biedrībām;
- profesionālā izaugsme (tālākizglītības kursi, semināri, pedagoģiskās prakses, studiju kursi, projekti);
- pētījumi, piedalīšanās konferencēs, zinātnisko darbu vadīšana;
- mācību materiāli (veidošana, tulkošana, izdošana);
- informācija un pieredzes apmaiņa (mājas lapa, publikācijas, resursu un informācijas centri, sabiedrības informēšana).

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to participate in the International Conference Cooperation FOR Sustainable Education: Management, Research, Practice, AND Theory organized by Latvian Association of University Lecturers for Cooperation in Education in cooperation with Daugavpils University, Liepaja University, University of Latvia, Latvian Academy of Sports Education, Rezekne Higher Education Institution, Latvian Academy of Police, and Latvia University of Agriculture. The conference will be held in Ratnieki, Ligatnes pagasts, Cesu region, Latvia on April 26 29, 2009.
The main goal of the conference is to promote international collaboration in all educational fields and disciplines, which are connected to social aspects of education such as cooperative learning. This conference is organized to foster an international debate, exchange of ideas, and reflection of innovative practices for educators using cooperative learning in education.
The conference will provide diverse opportunities for exchanging ideas, including key-note speeches, discussion groups, indoor and outdoor cooperative learning activities, cooperative reflection and evaluation activities, culture events and informal interaction.
Discussion groups will be organized according to four main strands:
- Cooperative learning and education process (pre-school, school, higher education)
- Cooperative learning and education theory
- Cooperative learning and education management
- Cooperative learning and education research
The main languages of the conference will be English and Latvian.

About us
We are the Latvian Association for Cooperation in Education (LACE), Reg. Nr. 40008037800 a professional non-governmental organization, founded on September 11, 1998, by professors of Latvia higher education establishments. Our association is a member of IASCE (International Association for the Study of Cooperation in Education).
Our goal is to facilitate research and implementation of cooperative learning and other interactive teaching/learning methods in education, promote exchange of experience and collaboration among university lecturers, students and schoolteachers, and provide in-service education.
Our association works in the following areas:
- Cooperation (with higher education institutions and schools, as well as other associations);
- Professional development (in-service courses, workshops, teaching practice, study courses, projects);
- Research (conferences, scientific papers, publication files);
- Teaching and learning materials (development, translation, publication);
- Information and sharing experience (home page, publications, resource/information centers, mass media).
Our association offers a possibility to experience new teaching and learning methods on your own skin shares experience about new teaching materials, and provides information about the latest evaluation and assessment methods.
