Conference preliminary programme

The suggested sub-theme of the ATEE Spring University 2010 is "Research, understanding, self-evaluation, and evaluation of educational achievements".

Teacher education for learner-centred teaching covers all essential aspects of teaching-learning to organize a holistic, targeted, and meeting the learnersā€™ needs pedagogical process. Learnersā€™ achievements in the constantly changing environment become especially important for the development of their many-sided abilities, compatibility and a cultured person. What is the educatorsā€™, teachersā€™ and learnersā€™ understanding of achievements, how to fill in the gaps between teachersā€™ attempts in organizing an effective pedagogical process and its outcomes, can outcomes be considered achievements? All these and many other questions appear when teachers and educators reflect on their practices. They seek for answers in a constantly changing social environment, teacher educational and schooling programmes.

Let us investigate, discuss and come to productive ideas how to better perform in favour of the quality of the learnersā€™ and studentsā€™ achievements, teachersā€™ and educatorsā€™ professional development, research productivity in the span of life-long education.

Possible topics of the con-current sessions

The organizing Committee will be pleased to receive articles on any problem of teacher pre- and post-diploma education, especially welcome are those which deal with teachersā€™ and educatorsā€™ research in the learnersā€™ achievements ā€“ problems, productive practices, findings, theoretical statements, assessment, evaluation. This sub-theme can be contextualised with any of the proposed con-current sessions.

The list of the sub-topics of this conference is preliminary and will be adjusted to the essence of the submitted proposals, if necessary.

• Development of teachers' psychological competence
• Improving education of pre-school teachers
• Curricula development for the basic and secondary school teacher education (possible several sessions devoted to particular subjects or groups of subjects)
• Teachers professional development and research competence
• Teacher education for multicultural schools
• Teacher education for special schools
• Development of teachers' leadership competence
• Comparative studies on teacher education
• History of teacher education

Invited sessions on a particular sub-theme are also possible, as music education, sports education etc.
